Michael Marcellin leads the global product marketing team for Verizon Business, responsible for go-to-market plans, cross-product solutions, and product strategy for the extensive voice, data, and IP product line. He brings a wealth of knowledge and innovation to this role and is an active member of the industry.
Marcellin provides oversight and vision to a team of experts around the world responsible for managing and marketing the most comprehensive product portfolio on the market. His group is instrumental in bringing new innovative services and capabilities to market by driving more intelligence into Verizon Business's network and delivering more flexibility to customers.
Previously, Marcellin worked as executive director of Verizon Business's IP and Ethernet portfolio, responsible for Verizon Private IP, the company's flagship virtual private network (VPN) using packet switching technology, and the award-winning Ethernet portfolio. As director of product pricing, he determined the pricing strategy for the entire business product line, including voice, data, and IP services. Marcellin's innovative pricing packages and bundles were crucial in the development of the Verizon Business customer retention and growth strategies.
As director of the company's eCRM marketing division, Marcellin led the development and marketing strategy for the Verizon Business Customer Center, the customer-facing Web portal. Pivotal in its launch, Marcellin and his team delivered value-added applications to customers and Verizon Business sales and service support teams. These applications enable users to manage their products and services, monitor their networks, view and pay their invoices, order services, and interact with customer service via a secure Web portal.
Marcellin began his career with MCI in 1994 and served in a variety of roles, developing marketing programs such as On-net and networkMCI One. He also managed internal Web-based field sales tools that enabled sales personnel to create proposals, contracts, and manage the sales process more effectively.
A Rodman Scholar at the University of Virginia, Marcellin received a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction in Systems Engineering.
