Corporate Responsibility magazine has named Verizon to the publication's 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, for the third consecutive year. Verizon is the only telecommunications company on the list and is ranked No. 27, up from No. 32 in 2009.
The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has named Verizon to its list of 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces. Verizon is ranked No. 3 among communications and telecommunications companies.
The Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index comprises North America's leading companies as measured by governance, social and environmental performance, and has included Verizon for two consecutive years. Verizon received its highest scores for the company's work in privacy protection, corporate governance, human capital development and standards for suppliers.
Diversity MBA Magazine has ranked Verizon No. 4 on its 2010 list of list of Top 50 Companies for Diverse Managers to Work, marking the fifth consecutive year that Verizon's commitment to diversity has earned the company a Top 10 ranking on the list. The magazine also named Verizon among the top companies for board of directors' diversity. Women and people of color constitute nearly half of Verizon's Board of Directors, and they make up nearly 60 percent of the company's workforce.
DiversityBusiness.com has named Verizon to DiversityBusiness’ 2010 list of the Top 50 Companies for Multicultural Business Opportunities. Verizon was selected by minority and women-owned suppliers in the annual poll. The award is based upon factors including volume, consistency and quality of business initiatives that a company grants to multicultural suppliers, and is an indication of great impact upon a global marketplace.
DiversityInc magazine has named Verizon to its list of Top 50 Companies for Diversity for the tenth consecutive year. The company, which is ranked No. 11 this year, has twice earned the No. 1 spot. The list ranks the Top 50 companies for consistent strength in four areas: CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications, and supplier diversity.
Fortune magazine has ranked Verizon No. 1 in the telecommunications sector of the publication’s 2010 list of World's Most Admired Companies. The company received the top ranking in six out of nine reputation attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, quality of management, long-term investment and quality of products and services. Fortune's Most Admired Companies list is based on surveys of executives, directors and analysts who were asked to rate companies in their own industry.
Hispanic Business magazine has ranked Verizon No. 3 on the publication’s Diversity Elite 60. This is the sixth year of recognition. The magazine has also ranked Verizon No. 3 on the Supplier Diversity Top 25 for providing equal opportunities to all of the company’s diverse suppliers to compete for contracts.
LATINA Style magazine has ranked Verizon No. 4 in the Latina Style 50, the publication’s annual list of the best companies for Latinas to work for in the U.S. This is the eighth consecutive year that the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion has been recognized by the publication.
The National Association for Female Executives has named Verizon to the 2010 list of NAFE Top 50 Companies for Executive Women. This is the third consecutive year that Verizon has been named to the list.
Ponemon Institute, a leading information security research company, has ranked Verizon as the most trusted communications company for privacy, in the institute’s annual Most Trusted Companies for Privacy Consumer Survey. In addition to being the highest-ranked communications company, Verizon ranks No. 14 among all U.S. companies, up from No. 17 last year.
Training magazine has ranked Verizon No. 4 on the publication's latest Top 125 list of companies that have the best training programs for their employees. This marks the 9th consecutive year that Verizon has been recognized for its investment in the training, education and professional development of its employees.
The Women's Business Enterprise National Council has named Verizon as a top American corporation, for the sixth consecutive year. The company was honored for its world-class supplier diversity program, which creates a level playing field for women's business enterprises to compete for corporate contracts.
Working Mother magazine has ranked Verizon among the top five Best Companies for Multicultural Women. The publication's 2010 list honors companies dedicated to cultural inclusiveness, bringing more perspectives to the decision-making process by promoting multicultural women's advancement. This is the fifth consecutive year Verizon has been named to the list.
Working Mother magazine has also ranked Verizon to the publication’s list of 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers. The annual list honors companies that have family-friendly benefits and policies that help working mothers strike a balance between their work and personal lives. Verizon was especially recognized for a long-term commitment to the advancement of women, and for the company's health and wellness programs and other initiatives that support working mothers.
