William "Chip" Freund currently serves as the director of managed services product marketing for Verizon Business, with responsibility for leading the marketing efforts for the company's expansive portfolio of managed network, security and IP telephony services. Previously, Mr. Freund was the director of market development for the Verizon Business managed services portfolio.

With over 20 years in the networking and computing fields, Mr. Freund began his career with the former MCI over 10 years ago. He has held a variety positions in sales engineering, global account sales and Internet product and enterprise marketing.

Prior to joining MCI, Mr. Freund served as the local area network manager for John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. For his eight years with JCU's IT department, Mr. Freund supported a large multi-protocol network spanning several campuses.

Mr. Freund holds a Masters in Business Administration from John Carroll University and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Biology from Wittenberg University.

Mr. Freund is based in Cary, N.C.
