Paul Tassinari, vice president, National Engineering is responsible for the planning, engineering and implementation of Verizon's E2E Video network infrastructure and the data backbone network supporting FIOS Data, DSL, and Fast Packet Data Services across the Verizon footprint. He previously had responsibility for FIOS Video subscriber operations, set-top box management, home networking and end-to-end process & system planning.
Paul served as executive director-Network Services for the Fiber to the Premise program office, initiating the nationwide launch of FTTP. This included the design, deployment, systems planning, processes and product development for Verizon's high-speed, fiber network to the premises of consumer and general business customers. Specifically, Paul, through collaboration with stakeholders, led the development and execution of end-to-end service fulfillment and assurances processes, as well as establishing corporate policy and direction in the FTTP arena.
Prior to that, Paul was executive director-Network Services, for DSL and Fast Packet Services. In this role, Paul directed the planning, designing and implementing of DSL and Fast Packet Data Services throughout the Verizon footprint; achieving loop qualification to over 10M new lines in 2003 and expanding market availability for Verizon's enterprise advance products, including ATM, Frame Relay, and other fast packet services.
Previous positions include executive director for Corporate Sourcing for Verizon Communications. Here, he played a significant role in changing Verizon's purchasing department into a strategic sourcing organization. This included championing changes across Verizon and driving significant annual savings to the corporation's bottom line through implementing a rigorous cross-functional team strategic sourcing process.
Mr. Tassinari began his telecom career in 1979 as an Outside Plant Engineer for the former New England Telephone. He also held various positions in Network Planning for New England Telephone, and the Technology Selection department for the former Nynex.
Mr. Tassinari graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1979. He received his M.B.A. in 1986 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Tassinari, his wife and three children reside in Westboro, Mass. He enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, sailing and golfing.
