Verzion's Central Office at 140 West Street, September 2001 (Click Photo for Larger Image) Verizon's central office at 140 West Street was in the ground zero area and sustained major damage during the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. In the year since the attacks, there has been much progress in the reconstruction and repairing of Verizon's facilities.
