Nancy Gofus, is senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Business, a premier provider of advanced global communications and information technology (IT) solutions. A long-term veteran of the telecommunications industry, Gofus is responsible for marketing strategy, advertising and brand management, and product management, delivering and communicating Verizon Business’ value proposition to market.
Leading up to her current appointment, Gofus was vice president of Product Management, overseeing the development, launch, and lifecycle management of Verizon Business’ award-winning product portfolio. Through an integrated suite of global voice, data, and IP services and next generation managed services, security and IT solutions, Gofus and her team launched the Verizon Business solutions today helping business and government customers transform their enterprise operations worldwide.
Prior to the Verizon/MCI merger, Gofus was responsible for developing and delivering MCI’s new generation of services. In addition, Gofus oversaw the evolution of MCI’s product line, helping companies make the transition from traditional data services to IP services.
Previously, Gofus served as executive vice president of Marketing and Customer Care at XO Communications where she developed their overall marketing strategy, including product development, marketing programming, marketing communications, advertising and customer care.
In addition to her marketing career, Gofus was chief operating officer for Concert Management Services, Inc., a joint venture of MCI and British Telecommunications, which was one of the first global providers of managed telecommunications services in more than 60 countries and 800 cities worldwide. Gofus initially joined Concert as senior vice president of Marketing.
Beforehand, Gofus held numerous senior management positions at MCI, including vice president of Global Services, vice president of Product Development, and director of National Accounts. She also has held several operational management positions at AT&T.
Gofus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the College of William and Mary and an Advanced Certification in Telecommunications from The George Washington University. She is also a Board Member for the Volunteers of America, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in need across the United States.
